Episode 426. Malcolm Ellis-Head of Diverse Investments-DIAGEO
Malcolm has been at the helm of Leading for Diageo Investments and our Partnership with spirits industry innovators Dia Simms & Erin Harris to help participants within the Black community achieve the goal of generating $2.4 billion in economic value.
Malcolm Ellis is a key leader at Diageo North America, where he is the Head of Diverse Investments and the Pronghorn Lead.
In this role, he has been instrumental in driving initiatives to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion, particularly within the spirits industry.
One of his notable contributions includes leading the partnership with Pronghorn, an initiative designed to cultivate the next generation of Black entrepreneurs and leaders in the industry.
The initiative aims to generate $2.4 billion in economic value for the Black community by 2032.
Ellis also serves as the Co-Chair of Diageo’s A.H.E.A.D. Business Resource Group, where he focuses on advancing opportunities for underrepresented communities, mainly through partnerships with Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).
Diageo has committed $10 million to endowments across 25 HBCUs through this initiative, creating scholarships and other student opportunities.
His efforts reflect Diageo’s broader goals to create a more equitable and diverse workplace and industry ecosystem.
Additionally, Ellis has been deeply involved in mentoring Black-owned brands and guiding investments that help entrepreneurs grow their businesses and secure their future within the spirits sector.​
