Episode 39. Ben Richmond – Past President & CEO, Louisville Urban League (1987-2015)
Ben Richmond is responsible for stewarding his parent’s work in the civil rights movement and furthering the principles and values taught by Dr. Martin Luther King.
Ben is the president and CEO of the Louisville Urban League, which serves as an active partner, leader, and catalyst to assist African Americans, other minority groups, and the disadvantaged to attain social and economic equality and stability. Ben began his career with the Urban League in Madison, Wisconsin, in 1979, and from 1982-1987, he was president and CEO of the Battle Creek, Michigan chapter.
Before his career with the Urban League, Ben spent seven years traveling Europe as part of the Northeast German Music Academy.
He received his bachelor’s degree from Tougaloo College and a master’s from the University of Wisconsin at Madison.
