Episode 183. Dr. Barry Denton, Past Executive Director, Louisville Metro Police Foundation (2013-2016)
Barry Denton is passionate about his hometown of Louisville.
In 2003, he began work as a bomb squad commander and police sergeant. Barry served in the police force, and in educated the next generation. He worked as a patrol officer for Audubon Park Police, and served as an adjunct professor with the American Military University, the University of Louisville, and Indiana Wesleyan University. From 2013 – 2016, he served as the executive director of the Louisville Metro Police Foundation.
Barry strives to make Louisville the best city in the nation through his work and through volunteerism with such organizations as the Louisville Downtown Rotary and the Kentucky Derby Festival Board.
He is the recipient of many awards including the 1995, 1999, and 2003 Medals of Valor from the Jefferson County Police Department.
