Al, whose real name is Allen Ray Sarven, is a well-known figure in the Professional Wrestling industry, both as a performer & a trainer.
Born on July 18, 1963, in Lima, Ohio, Snow has had a long & varied wrestling career with major organizations, including WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment), ECW (Extreme Championship Wrestling), & TNA (Total Nonstop Action Wrestling), among others.
Al is best known for his time in WWE during the late 1990s/early 2000s, where he was recognized for his charismatic persona & in-ring abilities.
He was also famous for his gimmick with “Head,” a mannequin head that he carried to the ring & used as part of his act, which became a massive hit with fans! In addition to his wrestling career, Al Snow is a respected wrestling trainer.
He took over Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW), a Louisville, KY-based wrestling promotion that has served as WWE’s & Impact Wrestling’s developmental territory.
Under Snow’s leadership, OVW has remained a prominent training ground for emerging wrestling talent, making significant contributions to the development of future stars.
Snow was heavily featured in the 2023 Netflix docuseries “Wrestlers.” Following the series’ release, OVW had its first sold-out Thursday night show in 8 years.
Al has 6 children, & in 2017, he married the lovely Jessica Gousha; & in 2021!
Lastly, we invited the Wrestling Icon to speak to the Downtown Louisville Rotary in the Summer of 2024, and that discussion is located here: https://youtu.be/uvGM5_jN6Cc?si=5rPDgbYpvIkynE9K.
P.S. Snow saved a child’s life from an ocean riptide at Santa Rosa Beach; this act tells me that wrestlers have a lot of heart!
